Sense Arena at SoNo - Expanding and Improving!

We are happy to announce a new update release of the Sense Arena platform

on Monday, January 20, 2020

WHAT IS NEW:
1. Three new Read & React drills:

  • Give and go - a drill to master one of the key teamplay situations - give and go. You will learn
to read the reaction of your D and your response to that, verbal communication with your teammate and quick release in the slot. Drill video here.
  • Team-play 3 on 2 - a new team-play drill mastering player's skill to solve situation 3 on 2.
The player has few options to pass the puck to his team-mates if they are open or to shoot himself.
Here we focus on creativity, peripheral vision and release time. Drill video here.
  • Shooting agility 4 - a scoring drill in the slot after a goalie rebound, focuses on your
reaction speed, spatial orientation and release time. Drill video here.
2. Three new goalie drills:
  • Goalie screening - it focuses on developing the speed of reaction to the puck and training active hands. The goalie is standing in the goal area and is screened by a player. At the top of the circle, there are 3 shooters who either pass and shoot or just shoot without passing. Players shoot into different areas of the goal. The purpose of the drill is to find the puck behind the screened player and catch it as quickly as possible.  The puck is caught by using the controller. To catch the puck, the player must press the trigger on the underside of the controller. Successfully catching the puck is announced by a positive sound and a vibration of the controller. This applies to all three new goalies drills. Drill video here.
  • Deflection reflex - it focuses on developing speed of reaction to change the direction of the puck and training active hands. The goalie stands in the goal area. There are 2 players around the blue line and a player in the slot. The player on the blue line randomly shoots towards the player in the slot, who deflects the puck to different areas in the net. The goalie is to react as quickly as possible to the deflected puck and catch the puck. Drill video here.
  • Goalie selective reflex - it focuses on developing recognition of detail and speed of reaction
to the puck. The goalie is standing in the goal area and there are 3 shooters around the blue line. The shooters randomly shoot either red, blue and black pucks into different areas of the net.
The goalie is to catch only black pucks and not to react for others. The goal is to react to the right puck color and catch it as quickly as possible. Drill video here.

3. New cloud platform cp.sensearena.com

We significantly upgraded the web-based cloud platform of Sense Arena so it is much faster in searching for players and their results, and we added the following functions:

  • players can be associated with more than one team - a player who uses Sense Arena in his team and then as part of a  National team or training camp can newly have only one login but when
he logs-in, he chooses for what team he trains.
  • coaches can be players as well
  • new user interface design with easier access to information about the player - results, diagnostics, training plans, all under his profile
  • players' emails are newly pre-loaded to the kiosk screen login page for faster login (players in the given team)
  • players can upload their profile photo

4. The Jumbotron above the ice starts to be a real scoreboard just as if you were in a big arena

Sense Arena is used by more than 1,500 players at 26 installations in the US, Canada, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland, Sweden, and China.
